Arlington Rooftop Bar & Grill Brunch
Hubby and I recently had brunch at Arlington Rooftop Bar & Grill. It was cold and drizzly, so we weren’t able to sit on the rooftop terrace, but this brunch got us super excited about having the same brunch 3 stories up in open air on a sunny spring day.
I’ll be honest - I’m not crazy about the curb appeal of Arlington Rooftop, and I think their website looks cheaply done. My brunch expectations were mediocre at best before we actually dined here.
The interior of Arlington Rooftop is impressive. It’s clear a lot of thought & money went into the details. The bar towers beautifully with hand-carved wood. The walls are covered in tile mosaics. There are flat screen televisions throughout the room, padded chairs, and enormously high ceilings. It’s quite a beautiful restaurant. The brunch menus were hand-written, which leads me to believe that the menu changes on either a weekly or seasonal basis.

We started off our brunch with 2 items that I had previously had up on the rooftop: fried green tomatoes and fries. I’m not normally one to order french fries for an appetizer, but I particularly enjoy Arlington Rooftop’s.

Anyone who follows my blog knows that I’m a fried green tomato JUNKIE. I seek them out in my spare time. Hubby and I have been known to plan road trips around them. I’m pretty sure I’ve had every fried green tomato in the city. So naturally, we also ordered the fried green tomatoes to start. We were a tad disappointed that 2 of the tomatoes were actually red. We weren’t sure if it was intentional, or if it was the fact that it wasn’t quite tomato season. That aside, they’re really good. I’d never had fried green tomatoes with mozzarella cheese on top, so it’s a little surprising to see at first, but it actually complimented the dish well. They’re also drizzled with a balsamic vinegar.

Hubby had the shrimp & asparagus omelette for his entrée, and I had the breakfast burrito, stuffed with eggs, seasoned chicken, lettuce and cheese. I really need to veer away from breakfast burritos in the future, because it’s becoming too much of a pattern on this blog. I’ll sprinkle in some variety, I promise. Both of our entrées were excellent. We also loved the breakfast potatoes - they were perfectly cooked - crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.

On top of the great decor and great food, service was impeccable. Our waiter was so on top of things. You’d think we were the only diners in there. (Come to think of it, I think aside from 1 other family, we WERE the only diners in there.)
I highly recommend Arlington Rooftop Bar & Grill for weekend brunch. I can’t wait to experience it again on a sunny day on the rooftop.
